if you need weight savings, fire resistance, or bling, get the carbon/kevlar

completly worthless to get anything besides an FRP shell in the price range you are looking at. thoes seats are going to be FRP with 1 layer of cf / kevlar weave on top and drowned in gel coat. adds absolutley no value to the seat outside of appearance.

Werd.
700$ for a non-fia seat is pretty lame... espesically an SPG knockoff that everyone sells for 400$.

fia rating is a must why buy seats that might break on you in a wreck and hurt you i seen apc seats snap drag racing before lol

^^^ idiot post alert.
america and japan do not use FIA rating. its just some UK seat test. SCCA does not require fia rating. etc etc. FIA rating is useless and means almost nothing.

Your logic is infallible, sir.
Not FIA Rated = The same as APC.
:ughug:
I've been told pretty much any seat not found on Ebay will pass FIA. Its just that the FIA Tests are 7,500$ and nobody cares to do it.

Not in Solo but in everything else SCCA its either FIA or you have to have a seat back brace. Which requires a roll cage. Same with NASA, and Formula drift. So, sorry but you are wrong not only about FIA not being used in the US, but FIA rating is also a standard of safety. It DOES mean something.

so get a back brace. costs like 50 bucks. its a piece of pipe with a plate on the end. woopty doo. FIA will not test aluminum seats. nascars use aluminum seats. they crash at 200 mph. OMG THEY GET IN 200 MPH CRASHES WITH NON FIA SEATS? AIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEEEEE

Sure, and NASCAR is the same shit as drag racing, nobody out side of America really cares so they are going to build to their own specs.
Yeah, so get a back brace. And a roll cage. Or, just get an FIA seat and be done with with it.
There are plenty of quality seats that don't have an FIA rating, like Kirkey. And there are a few seats that do have the FIA rating that are garbage, like my old Sparco Ultra. That seat sucks, but at least I know it wont break if I get in a crash.

lol, yeah if you have an FIA seat, then you dont need a rollcage.

does anyone know if the zeta II and III are similar in size
Juujai
01-31-2006, 03:08 AM
zeta ii is smaller than zeta iii gl finding a zeta ii at a reasonable price used
DoriftoSlut

Zeta III is wider and suckier. Zeta II is the Jam.
To note... Zeta III flexes more than Zeta II from what i've seen. But Zeta II didn't get FiA certified. Whatever. Who cares. What are you using your seat for anyways?
look into a Status Ring or support a local shop and get some pandagarage.com seats

well id mostly be using the seat for drifting
might go be going to events (notsure yet)
probably dont need anything fancy
i tried a zeta III type L today n it was pretty snug
i weigh bout 165 and 5'10
i work out a bit so im not sure if that would make my shoulders a bit wider
what i dont really get is how would guys a lot bigger than me
say like 200lbs and 6'3 fit into a type L
chmercer

because when you say you fit pretty snug, you actually fit pretty loose, and arent used to a bucket seat.
dont get status. they are so plain and cost like a million dollars.
why do you people care about FIA rating. if you are driving in an event that requires FIA rated seats, you need a roll bar.
