sr20det - OK, this all started at the beginning of this year i was doing a test pipe install, it took me an extra day cuz i ran into some problems so i ran open downpipe for a day, once i got the test pipe on, the car was smoking a tad bit, but i assummed it was due to the cat being gone, well its gotten progressively worse and no it smoke big time, usually whenever i let off the throttle....Well i noticed yesterday oil was being spat out the BOV and kinda leaking out the hot pipe, I took it off today and cleaned it out and there was oil all in it....i did a comp test, and i dont know if i did it right or not? I did each plug at a time and put in the guage thing and started the car, each of em were at about 90 the whole time??? i know ur sposed to be at like 150 right? or was i sposed to give the car throttle or what?Or is my car just fukced lol? when i pulled the plugs, number 3 had oil all over it and none of the others did. Any clues?

Does anyone think it could be fried rings?or maybe bad valve stem seals? Something along these lines? Im trying to adjust my timing bc i think im running rich, but the gun i have for it isnt wanting to reach my spark plug...any ideas?

Also i have a metal head gasket and good vaccuum so i know those arent it.

There's a patch to help you quit smoking! LOL..

ok..

Now for reals.
Oil in the cylinder + white smoke spells bad rings to me.

Yeah, it sounds like your piston ring(s) is/are gone. also, having oil out your BOV.... is it AFTER your catch-can line?

aight well ima do a leakdown test soon then and see if its rings or possibly the turbo, i currently have my catch can off cuz im in the process of relocating it..

... ok.. you said your motor had 90 psi of compression? you have bad rings or a really bad headgasket (more than likely the rings)... maybe even a combination of both.

Burning oil = black/blue... burning water+antifreeze = white.

You say that it smokes when you let off the throttle... my guess is that it is rings.. because you are relying on the compression of the motor to slow it down....

, i redid the comp test and got 160 160 150 160 so i know thats good, then i took it and had a leakdown test and they said my turbo was done, the seals are fried inside so its leaking oil. I have since then bought a new turbo but im waiting for my lines to come in before i can install it, sorry i didnt update, i will when it is complete, thanks though for the replys.

oh snaps! I cant believe I didnt think of that? oil in the hot and cold piping can only come in two ways... through the throttle body (if you have a horrible backfire and are shooting oil back up.. highly unlikely...) and your turbo. :|

I'm having the EXACT same problem right now, J/W if the new turbo fixed it?
