AEM WIDEBAND reading LEAN? Stock sr20det

Got my AEM wideband in today and to me, from a guy who is coming from the srt platform i am lean. I called enjuku who at the time had scott on the other line. I told them that i am running 9.5lbs and my a/f ratio threw the powerband is 13.5 ta 13.7 witch to me is lean, like the car should'nt be running right lean. in the neon that kinda a/f ratio would couse a break up in the power band. scott told enjuku which told me that, that was a normal reading for a stock sr ecu at 9.5lbs and i was safe. but to me that just seems lean. i think for my own self i will try to swap out this 94ser o2 sensor with the 300z turbo one and see if it makes a diffrence. that or i'll just stick the stock one in the hole and see how it runs... if that does'nt work i'll turn the boost down a couple lbs if the computer pulls fuel and makes the same a/f then i know for a fact that, that is what there soupose to run at... car pulls very hard for what it is, and does'nt buck or skip a beat. if i did not have the wideband to tell me what the a/f is i would not even be worried. I'd be beating the hell out of it.... Please post your thoughts. Am I ok to beat the piss out of her? or do I have a issue.....

Also the motor came with a adjustable wga and i can see from the wirring the ecu had a piggyback on it of some sort. could the guy have swapped out the wheel inside the turbo (yea right I'm not that lucky) or done something that would require more fuel than the stock set up + walbro pump? ...thanks, steve.

Well that sounds about right because you have increased how much air is going into the engine, hence it is lean. BUT... make sure these readings are consistent throughtout the powerband, because based on ECU inputs (MAFS, O2's, blah).... the ECU tries to compensate for it. In general Nissan ecu maps suck, so you just wanna make sure it is around 12.5 or 12 and you would be much safer. Rather safe than buy a new motor.

Yea I agree, it's just to lean for me. I ordered a fpr monday. should be here by next week at the latest. I'm just gonna stay out of it untill then. Turning the fuel pressure up should hopefully get me into the 12's a/f wise and with some race fuel in there that should be safe... far as the install goes it's a external wideband no hook up to the maf or anything. it's a wideband not a narrow band. has it's own sensor and all.... Never heard of anyone having to calibrate one, there soupose to come with in .1 of accurate. only thing i have ever done is compare them on a dyno, havent brought this car to the dyno yet. but I think I might be on to something with the 02 sensor... I am using a 94 ser one which i was told would be fine. but for shit's and giggles while waiting on my fpr i decided to throw the stock one in there (does'nt fit just lays there loose) and it would read a 13.1 mid power band and quickly go to 12.7 which would be fine. so I'll let you know tue when i put the 87 300z turbo o2 sensor in.... we'll see.

No diffrence in the 94ser o2 sensor and my buddies s-14 o2 sensor. so it looks like a 94 ser o2 sensor will work just fine... i got a adjustable fpr and turned up the fuel pressure, all is rich now :)
