what downpipes are you running?
do you have a problem with exhaust leaks
any info would be greatly appreciated, although i dont expect much response since the na ka guys are the rejects it seems.

more specifically, aftermarket dp's

I ran a 3" dp from the manifold to the cat. It made the car 100x louder in high rpm's...sounded like a honda with a welded on fart pipe. I did feel a loss of low end torque...but I was able to run through the gears a lot faster (Higher rpm's were faster).
I wouldn't recomend it unless you go turbo.
after a week, I quicky sourced a replacement stock downpipe and has been on it since.
No exhaust leaks unless you reuse old gaskets. Get stainless steel bolts and nuts too.

SR downpipe, use a cat with floating flanges to line up it right. Direct bolt on to the OE manifold.

i'm na right now and i made a custom 2.5" downpipe from the headers back. i am using an actual muffler and sounds really quiet. its alot neater and cleaner looking. and i used mandrel bent piping ....
i made one from my friend, very similar and when he goes to meets everybody loves his exhaust tone...its loud but sound really clean and throaty. he just has an ebay can too....

i have an obx manifold from ebay
works great

one piece
i got a megan header custome 3inch down pipe with cat built in, I have a slight leak because i used the stock 2~inch flange from the cat because i didnt have a 3inch, going to remake it again when I have the correct flanges..

Why would you run an SR downpipe on an NA ka motor?

Why would you run an SR downpipe on an NA ka motor?
Why not? Removes the close coupled catalytic converter in favor of a back mounted unit and increases the overall piping diameter.

I don't want to be annoying or jack the thread, but wouldn't the piping be too large for an NA, esp. if you run a 3 inch cat back like a lot of ka NA guys do.
Thanks for putting up with my questions.

Too large for what?
You must come from the school of 'reducing backpressure is bad'. Slap whoever told you that. On the big 2.4L KA any increase in exhaust flow makes power, the more the better. Look at any exhaust dyno, full catbacks have been known to make up to 18hp without anything else, downpipes do the same thing with similiarly impressive results.

i got a na dohc with a RSR 3" DP to a catco high flow cat to a RSR GTII exhaust, with the silencer out it feels like a whole different motor than it did before. with just the intake, the exhaust stated above and a SAFC, i can keep up with a V6 ledgend the onther day that was trying to get in front of me and cut me off. and he even got a head start before i realized that he was trying to cut me off. and i have to watch out or i hop the rear end when takeing corners now. just the above said setup, nothing more.
and when i put the silencer in i loose a crap ton of torque.
but if you are going to put on a downpipe, one word of advice, lock washers. use them or your bolts may fall out like mine did. luckley i figured out that the bolts went goodbye while i still had 1/3 attatched, imagine if i would have lost all of them. lock washers are cheap insurance that you won't loose the bolts and plow the pavement with your exhaust.

JW, Russ I know your running and S14....does the SR downpipe bolt up directly to the DE manifold on the S13?

No. The S13 manifold has two outlets and is slightly longer.
