Ok I searched but couldn't find the solution. Heres my problem:

I have a 1990 240sx 5spd fastback with around 152k miles. I get a vibration starting at 30mph then it stops after 50mph. It sounds like its coming from the rear. I know its not tire balancing because I just got all of my 4 tires balanced. I also get a wobble from my shifter at around the same speed. Also when I am deccelarating my rear tires sound like they have a cell phone taped on them so I feel a small wheel hop. Any one know what the problem could be? I'm guessing tranny mount or subframe bushing? BTW where can I get a full bushing kit? Thanks in advance:2f2f:

Alright, my first instinct is to check the lug nuts, are they tight/torqued on right? You said you had your wheels balanced right? As you can see from one of my previous threads Discount Tire torqued one side too loose and one side too hard totally :fawk2: ing up my night this past weekend.

as for suspension bushings, are you talking performance or OEM? If performance I hear the Energy Suspension bushings are a great deal for under $200... on the other hand I use aluminum suspension bushing collars on the rear... easy install(less than an hour) and cheap, I got mine on Ebay but I believe SPL parts and Enjuku sell them.

do you have new tires i kinda had that feeling when my tires had premature wear from a hard brake or abrupt stop. it caused the tire to have a small flat spot.

I have a similar "wobble" to yours only mine is the front driver. I constently check the lug nuts to make sure there tight, and I have checked underneath and see nothing out of the ordinary minus some old worn out bushings... my vibration starts at about 40 and continues to 55. I cant tell what it is... The funny thing is when I turn it will make a clunking sound from the same wheel, and sometimes when I brake the sound disapears.. and thensometimes it will make no sound at all... if i ignore it long enough the vibration is enough to loosen the lug nuts, thankfully I work with !Zar! and he had the right size while we were at work, I was driving on 2 loose lugs...

Did you check the tension rod bushings?

I've checked the bushings and everything but they all seem fine. Im guessing its the wheel bearings now.

wheel bearings are cheap, might as well change them if you see any cracks etc. do you have abnormal wear on your tires?

all you guys, check the driveshaft. The Driveshaft bearing goes bad, especially with that many miles. I had the same exact problem and I changed to a one piece alum DF. Vibrations are now gone.

Did you get the car lined-out ? ie, correct camber settings etc. ?

Different cambers, toe-in's etc gives that effect as well.

I agree. This problem occurs from the drive shaft or the transmission. Bad synchros can cause this problem, as well as bearing in the drive shaft.
The more that drive shaft spins, the more it is going to rattle.......
You can feel the rattling alot between accel/deccel.
It should defenitely get looked into, it can eventually destroy your clutch, and even cause warping of the fly wheel.
