ok. i got my clutch, i'm going to install it myself so I need some directions about how to do it and any problems you have run into. (95 240sx se) I've read the instructions on 240sx.org... I would like some more detail if you could. Do I drain the tranny oil at any point? cause 240sx.org says to refill it?  I would look at the FSM but I'm won't have it for a few weeks, it's on order so.... i need to have the clutch installed by this friday..... Thanks for the info. (could you please include torque specs and bolting patterns)

yeah drain the tranny first thing, otherwise your going to have a real big mess, i dont know any of the tourge specs...it should only take you about 8 hours total, to take the tranny out and put it back in, first you can start with the drain plug, take it out...then you can take the driveshaft off, i took the exaust off at the cat so i would have more room, take the bell housing bolts out...take all the plugs (electrical)out of the tranny, take the transmission cross member off...and i think thats it, if i forgot anything its simple and you should be able to figure it out....

notes...

there are 2 bell housing bolts on the top of the tranny that are hard to get at, i took a jack and jacked up the tranny as far as it would go, and it was enough to give access to the bolts at the top, and there is a cover next to the bolt by the driver side that covers a senser, i found it easier to just take it out...i believe some people broke theres...oh i forgot one thing...you need to take the shifter off...its easy...i think 240sx.org has instruction for it...but do that towards the beginning so its out of your way, and the tranny can come down...removing the pressure plate is like 6 bolts and really easy...and then your clutch is out....i always mark were the driveshaft was, and the pressure plate...that way i put it back on in the same spot....you dont have to do that...but that is what i do...i think that pretty much covers it...again if i forgot anything sorry....hope this helps

oh and you can fill the tranny back up through the hole the shifter goes in...i think it takes 2.5 quarts...but thats just from what ive read...i used a jack to keep the tranny up when i was removing the last bolts...it helps to have someone there to let the jack down while your under the car so you can get the tranny out....and for the driveshaft bolts they are pretty tight, and theres a little trick that you might not know, you put the closed end of the 12 mm wrech on the net, and then you take another wrench and put the closed end at the end of the one on the nut...just think for a min about it, and you will figure out what im taking about...it makes it so you can have more leverage...it really helps...i think all the tools you need are 14 mm wrench...14mm socket...12 mm wrench...10mm socket...screwdriver...and 17 mm socket for the crossmember...and i believe thats it...and thats all folks

thanks, that helps,

where is the tranny oil drain plug?

i assume that you have to slide the tranny back so does the propeller shaft just drop down or how exactally does the tranny come out?

torque specs anyone?

I got air tools today, spent like $600 for compressor and all..... hehe, it's so great..... i got my exhaust off and the tranny oil drained...... i need someone to tell me how exactally how to pull the tranny off, like what to release first and then which direction to pull

do i disconnect the propeller shaft the pull the tranny out? isn't there a shaft that goes into the clutch/flywheel part that i have to watch out for?

More details please, thanks, soon please, working on it tomorrow

How exactally am I suppose to take out the propeller shaft and unbolt the tranny? do i have to jack it up or what? i'm stuck, help as quickly as possible please....... <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/nervous.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':nervous:'> &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/nervous.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':nervous:'> &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/nervous.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':nervous:'> &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/nervous.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':nervous:'> &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/nervous.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':nervous:'> &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/nervous.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':nervous:'> &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/nervous.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':nervous:'> &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/nervous.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':nervous:'> &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/nervous.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':nervous:'> &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/nervous.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':nervous:'> &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/nervous.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':nervous:'> &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/nervous.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':nervous:'>

How the heck am I suppose to unbolt the propeller shaft (the part closest to the rear right?) the bolts are soo tight and I don't want to break it, the whole shaft moves when i try to take the bolt's off. I used a breaker bar and still no luck, any tips? helllllllpppppppp...... <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cry.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cry.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cry.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

For those using air tools, how much torque does your tool have?
