I definately reocomenned getting an HDTV card, cause it's stupid clear. You'll never watch anything else. We have analog cable which you gotta pay more to recieve HDTV.. But I just use my $20 HDTV antenna made by ZENITH.

Omni Vision HDTV card.. I fucking love it. Too bad you can't get it here though. I got it from a source which imported it from Korea. They are definately on top of their game.

FUSHION GOLD is also a good brand, I've heard good reviews from them. But they go for about $200+ or so.

DO NOT BUY ATI'S HDTV CARD. IT's 100% GARBAGE! Software sucks on it, not as good as my Omni card. You need to be running windows media center for it to work properly. I had so many fucking problems with it, I just gave it to my brother.

This is from my card, the picture isn't as clear as the actual thing.

My setup is better, I just use my big screen tv as a monitor, also with a touch of a button I can go back to watching tv, or I can do PIP. You need an extension from your video card to fit the back of your tv tho, depending on what tv you have, you need hdmi, or that other thing, like male to male. Also even better, a laptop on the couch, hope my info helps in some way :)

If you just want a regular PCI tuner with no HDTV, you can pick up a Happaug(sp) WinTV card. They're pretty inexpensive, and work pretty well too. Stay away from the USB TV cards, cause those things take up way too much CPU resources.

HDTV ones go for about $150. Some may or may not come with the $20 antenna.

This is the BEST HDTV indoor antenna on the market(one of the cheapest ones too) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00006FXR9/002-0765672-5310428?v=glance&n=172282.

On my old college computer I used a ATI PRO whatcha-ma-callit cards, fairly inexpensive and you can do all that stuff on em, they have more expensive higher end ones if you do gaming as well

i have a hauppage card and the image blows nuts, even when i play PS2 through it. so it's not just a bad signal. i hate it. maybe it's the wintv software, who knows. i still watch tv on it tho cuz i dont' wanna go downstairs where it's boring and cold.

Unless you want to record TV, check if you have an RCA input on your monitor.

I just have a VCR to change channels...cable hooked into the vcr...rca out from the vcr, video to my monitor and the sound goes through an RCA>headphone jack adapter into my sound input on my sound card. That way the sound plays out the speakers and I just hit a button on my monitor to switch to tv. I can also get picture in picture TV and computer :D

The card I have is 1080i, but it depends on the broadcast. Not all channels are broadcasted in 1080 res, some are 640, and some are in between. Usually the more popular shows are broadcasted in the higher res. Mine isn't progressive, but it usually doesn't give me any problems.

Don't know about Sat PCI cards though.

No HDTV... blows
I have an All In Wonder that's a few years old and I love it. It's hooked up through S-Cable to my receiver and I use it to watch whatever I download on my PC (tv shows, clips, anime, etc) on a 32" Sony TV.

hey i have a avertv card, its decent. i only bought it cuz i wanted to play ps2 in my room when i first got it a few years ago and didnt want a tv in my room. Picutre looked crappy tho, but hooking up for tv looks good.

Anyways, i used to be able to get analog cable off of it by plugging my internet cable chord into it and detecting the channels. But i think they changed the signal to digital. Can i possibly pick that up with a newer tv card?

Good solution. I havent been able to get into the cable box at my apartment complex to borrow some cable. It has some crazy ass security key.

How many channels do you get with your set up? And is there any internet broadcasts besides that damn winamp tv.

Thanks.
